Knitting Jenny Pattern 141: Icelandic Léttlopi Wool Jumper is a top-down seamless jumper designed with a stranded colorwork yoke, knit circularly, from the neck to the hem.
This top-down knitting method enables easy and frequent trying on of the garment as knitting progresses, to ensure a perfect fit.
The jumper features a folded picot hemmed edge at the neck, wrists, and hem.
The jumper pattern offers inclusive sizing and a range of 8 sizes, including:
- Chest circumference, in inches: 35, 38.5, 42.75, 46.75, 50.75, 54, 59.5, 62.5
Measurements are in inches and indicate the finished jumper measurements, not the body measurements.
The pattern calls for the following needle sizes; however, your needle size requirements may vary due to the outcome of your gauge swatch.
- 4.0mm knitting needles (for the hem facings)
- 4.5mm knitting needles (for the stockinette body and sleeves)
- 5.0mm knitting needles (for the stranded colorwork)
Knitting Jenny Pattern 141 calls for the following needle sizes and gauges; however, your needle size requirements may vary.
- 21 stitches and 26 rows to 4 inches (10 centimeters) over the solid color stockinette of the body and sleeves, knit circularly with 4.5mm knitting needles, after washing, blocking, drying.
- 23 stitches and 24.25 rows to 4 inches (10 centimeters) over the stranded colorwork yoke, knit circularly with 5.0mm knitting needles, after washing, blocking, drying.
Knitting Jenny Pattern 141 is designed with pure Icelandic sheep wool, which contains special fiber properties to enable knitting yarn that is lightweight, warm, durable, breathable, and water resistant, the perfect textile combination for jumpers.
The jumper features 2 shades of Ístex brand Icelandic lopi wool in the léttlopi weight, which is considered a worsted/Aran weight.
The jumper requires the following wool quantities:
- 65 (70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 100, 105) grams of a light color.
- 425 (455, 505, 555, 600, 640, 705, 745) grams of a dark color.
