Introducing ... Knitting Jenny Pattern Collection 13: Irish Aran Islands Inspired Cables!
The pattern designs were influenced by the historic knitting heritage of the Aran Islands, which includes wool traditions of knitting complex patterns with cables and other textured motifs.
Often knit with undyed wool, knitted cables are associated with aspects of the sea and land of the Aran Islands, located approximately 30 miles from the city of Galway, situated on the Atlantic coast of Ireland.
The Aran Islands are an archipelago of three islands: Inis Mór, Inis Meáin, and Inis Oírr. Since the nineteenth century, the people of the Aran Islands have cultivated textured cabled knitting, from which Knitting Jenny Pattern Collection 13 is inspired.
It was a joy to develop these Irish Aran Islands inspired cabled designs!
I hope you enjoy knitting them.
Thank you, and happy knitting!
