All about me

I'm making the version on the far right. I chose the pattern because I wanted to make a dress with a "cut on" sleeve, so the busy Liberty pattern wouldn't be interrupted by "set in" sleeves.

Yes, I got this fabric at the secret Liberty fabric shop.

Here'e the bodice, and you can see the pattern extends across the bodice to the arms.

There is a long gathered insertion. Maybe next time I'll do the insertion in a contrasting color. I added the red binding just to give it a little zing; otherwise, the fabric's a bit sombre.

I am currently having some major trouble with the underarm gussets. I just can't get them in right. I wonder if anyone has a trick for inserting underarm gussets?

Basically, I'm inserting a triangle under the arms to allow for a little ease of movement. Hopefully, I'd get them right, then add the skirt and lining and be done with it.
