What part about green leaves don't we like?
Completed in 2011, the year I knit a "sock wardrobe" for my sister

The pattern is the Embossed Leaves Socks, designed by Mona Schmidt, published in the winter 2005 issue of Interweave Knits magazine.

I've knit this pattern before, and I'll knit it again.

I purchased the undyed sock yarn from Bluefaced, while I was up at the fabled Woolfest in the Lake District, up near the Scottish border.

I can appreciate buying and knitting with local, "heritage" bluefaced Leicester (BFL) wool, but at the end of the day, I don't love the touch. BFL is just not as soft as other wool options.

This yarn is the "BFL platinum high twist sock yarn." Fiber content is 80% superwashed BFL with 20% nylon for strength.

I enjoyed knitting these socks in their natural white color, then dropping the completed socks into a green dye back.
