What to do with leftover sock yarn?
Completed in March 2013

Do you have a lot of leftover sock yarn? What do you do with it?

This is another attempt to design something with the leftover bits of sock yarn.

The main black yarn is Schoeller and Stahl brand Fortissima sock yarn in the solid black colorway #2002, purchased on a recent stash-building trip to Germany.

It's the ever-reliable good German sock yarn, the fiber content of which is 75% superwash virgin wool and 25% nylon for strength. The meterage is 420 per 100 grams.

The Fair Isle colorwork derived from my just selecting some leftover bits from my sock yarn bucket, and experimenting with simple designs on graph paper.

As always, I'm a big fan of bright colors against a black backdrop.

Next time, though, I'll continue the colorwork a bit more down the leg.

These socks represent Pair #77 in the madness that is my sister's sock wardrobe.
