All about me

30 August 2007

No Reservations

Catherine Zeta-Jones will never be able to top her performance in Chicago. It was great. I loved that movie: the time period, the costumes, the dance, the song, Richard Gere.

So, with that said, newer CZJ movies will inevitably disappoint me.

This movie was a disappointment in that there were no period costumes, no dance, no song, no Richard Gere. It wasn't a bad movie, though. It was interesting to see a movie based around the life of a New York chef, a real foodie. It was interesting seeing CZJ's great pre-war Manhatten apartment. What part about that didn't you like? Gosh, I would love an apartment like that, with a fully decked out kitchen.

This movie was fine. Not great, but certainly fine. It's a good kind of chick flick, the kind that's good to rent on DVD. A good movie to watch while you're curled up on the sofa with your knitting.
