Prairie Home Companion

When Lindsay Lohan started singing, I walked out of the moviehouse. I just couldn't take it anymore. This movie was dreadful; where do I begin? First of all, I know too much about the personal life of Garrison Keillor and therefore I just don't like the guy. He's right up there with Larry King. Sure, the Prairie Home Companion put Minnesota on the map (along with Paul Bunyon and his blue ox Babe). So, that's a good thing. But oh the acting in this movie, and the jumping around to too many trite characters, it was just too much. Is it just me or did Kevin Kline remind you of John Cleese? OK, the one good thing about this movie was hearing the great Meryl Streep doing the Minnesota accent. But even Meryl couldn't carry this bad movie. Which is disappointing because I love radio shows. I was in the audience recently at Drill Hall in London for the recording of a radio show, The Lawrence Sweeney Mix, and it was really a lot of fun, thanks to my friend Liz who organized the get-together. And the show was free. I strongly suggest it.
