Pirates of the Caribbean
I went to the movies with a friend of mine. We went in for the double-dip: This Pirates movie was to be viewed after first seeing Spiderman. Why we had to pick the two longest movies in history for our double-dip, I'll never know.
I am a veteran of the double-dip. Hey, getting to the moviehouse is half the struggle, so why not stay and watch another movie? There's inevitably a break between movies, where you can go to the in-house cafe and have a drink and/or knit.
I am, in fact, a proselytizing double-dipper. The more against the concept a person is, the harder I try to convert them. I even converted Dad, and we once did the triple-dip!
But wait, there's more! My own personal best was set in San Francisco, 2002. My brother (one of three who shall remain nameless; I'm not sure if this is the sort of trivia he'd appreciate floating around cyberspace) was visiting me, and we decided to go to the movies. But, one thing led to another, and we soon found ourselves deep in the midst of a bonafide quadruple-dip! It was great!
Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it!
Meanwhile, the Pirates of the Caribbean could not hold my attention. I walked out.
I know, I know, I am a bad friend. But, in my defense, a third friend had arrived for this Pirates movie, and so when I left the moviehouse, I knew that she (my original double-dipping partner) was in good hands; she was not alone.
