Miss Potter

Renee Zellweger does such a good job at looking fat and frumpy. Which is amazing because she's really quite thin, too thin, in real life. Her Beatrix Potter reminded me somehow of the character Renee played in Cold Mountain, but with a Bridget Jones accent. The costumes and customs in this movie were very interesting as well as the Lake District scenery. Speaking of which, if you're lucky enough to go to the British WoolFest up in the Lake District, you must take the side trip to the Beatrix Potter house. Not that I've been. But I heard the house and grounds are just beautiful. I attended the very first-ever British WoolFest, just a few years ago, and I heard that the Fest has grown quite a lot since then. When I went it was tricky to correctly time the bus and the boat and the train to get to Beatrix' house on the Sunday after WoolFest. Alas, I just stayed put at the WoolFest and bought more yarn. Which I needed like a hole in the head.
