Curse of the Golden Flower

I am not a big fan of martial arts flicks. That being said, I have seen a lot of them. And at least I have an appreciation for them. I can appreciate the work that goes into them.

I have been educated. I had a beau once who made it his mission to get me to love martial arts flicks. There was a point in my life where I knew all the big actors, and had seen all the best movies. My favorites were the ones with a young twenty-year-old Jackie Chan. He was beautiful. And I would sit there and watch these movies with said beau, and it was ok. I got a lot of knitting done during those DVD nights.

The Curse of the Golden Flower is a sad tale. But not a boo-hoo-cry-me-a-river sad tale that I generally dislike so much. No, this is just a sad family tale, with an evil father.

I was astonished how the father beat the youngest son dead. Wow, that was a bit much.

Anyway, this is a colorful movie, and not a complete waste of time, if you have your knitting close at hand.
