Bobby

The upside: seeing original television footage of RFK and scenes of the times. The Kennedy clan photographs at the end of the movie, especially the photo of Ethel in her great 1960s mink coat, in church at the baptism. The many cameo roles. More proof that Helen Hunt is a bad actress. The great big teased hair and makeup and pink frost lipstick. The downside: The costume designer could have pushed the envelope a bit on the clothing. Why did the over-rated Lindsay Lohan have 23 wardrobe changes? And did the costume designer think we wouldn't notice little discrepancies like the bride wearing an ivory dress with white gloves? Horrors! I wish someone would explain to me the issues surrounding the usage of copyrighted songs in movies. I just don’t understand why this movie didn’t have a stronger soundtrack, circa 1968. Throughout the movie, every so often, a good groovy song would tempt you but it was fleeting and infrequent. This desire for a stronger soundtrack is coming from a person (me) who owns a total of four music CDs, all of which were gifts and all of which are in long-term storage in Colorado. (I don’t have music or television in the home. It’s a long story.)
