Blades of Glory

This is that rare movie that both my brother Stephen AND my sister-in-law Paola would enjoy. So, it's a good DVD to rent, if you missed it at the moviehouse.

Girls will like this movie for all the figure skating, for the many cameos of famous figure skaters (Dorothy Hamill, Peggy Flemming, etc etc), for the behind-the-scenes cat-fight drama that is world-class figure skating.

Boys will like this movie for the disgusting humor that Will Ferrell does best.

I loved this movie. I laughed so hard. At a couple points in the movie, I was laughing so hard, I couldn't stop, and I noticed some moviehouse-going neighbors literally turn around and look at me.

Can you hear me laughing now?

And as if the laughter weren't enough, there are other reasons to see this movie: there are lots of great knit sweaters in this movie. As there should be, considering the ice rink theme. And it encourages me to knit more Fair Isle. Which is always fun. I am especially looking forward to designing a nice green top-down yoked Fair Isle sweater this year, in my favorite green #FC11 from Jamieson & Smith.
