Babel

This movie is all over the place, with allegedly connected stories taking place in Morocco, California/Mexico, and Japan, in the same way that the horrid movie Crash interconnected different lives. This is such a lazy way to write, to compartmentalize like that. I know it's a lazy way to write because it's the way I normally write my school papers. But I expect more from a screenplay starring Brad Pitt. The U.S.-Mexico border scenes brought back lots of memories of crossing the border, when I lived in Texas, and getting searched. Like I look like a drug smuggler? And, the Japan scenes gave me flashbacks of my four long years working in Tokyo. Not a good movie for reminiscing.
