Big green mohair!
Completed in December 2009

Here's a shot of the scarf on Dad's sofa, with the family photos above. On the wall, that's mortar between the logs. Yes, it's a log cabin in the mountains!

Here's the lace on Dad's fireplace mantle, with all his travel trinkets.

This is the big green mohair yarn, variegated, from Australia. It was given to me by a friend. Thank you, friend!

The pattern is the Trellis Scarf, designed by Evelyn Clark, published in the spring 2006 issue of Interweave Knits magazine.

The scarf is almost a proper shawl. It's big. I blocked it aggressively, as you do, and now it measures 17 inches wide by 72 inches long.

I knit this project with 6.0mm Brittany birch straights----which was unusual for me. I don't often knit with straight needles anymore, and 6.0mm is, like, huge!
