Luscious green socks
Honestly, this is the most luscious sock yarn. It's the fabled Wollmeise sock yarn from Germany. Pure merino superwash in a 150 gram hank. And what a shade of green! The colorway is called "Grashupfer".
This wonderful yarn was given to me by a friend. Thank you, friend!
This sock pattern is the Child's First Sock from the interesting and useful book, Knitting Vintage Socks, by Nancy Bush.
Even though it's called a "child's sock" the pattern's been adjusted for an adult foot. Still, though, I found the pattern a bit small for my foot. So, I had to up the ante and add another repeat.
So, at the end of the day, I cast on 78 sts, working 8 rows of ribbing, then reducing 6 sts to 72 sts.
Knitting with this yarn was sheer luxury. It's my new favorite sock yarn. And, the pattern was good too. The shells and eyelets are a nice texture and really hug the foot. Nice heel construction, too. I love these socks!
