What? More Selbu mittens?
Completed in April 2009

This is the NHM #3 mitten pattern from the great book, Selbuvotter: Biography of a Knitting Tradition, by Terri Shea. I can't seem to get enough of these great, challenging mittens.

These mittens were knit with my favorite Jamieson & Smith brand two-ply jumper weight yarn on my favorite 2.75mm Brittany birch double-pointed needles.

Though I love this mitten book, I was disappointed to find an error on this pattern. Specifically, the thumb patterns were not mirrored images, so I had to get out the graph paper and tweak the pattern a bit.

These mitts were generally knit per the pattern, aside from the thumb issue, and the cuff, which I had to extend. I do love a long cuff.

Luckily, I remembered to mirror the flying fish pattern on the cuff, as well as the cabled ribbing.
