The unblocked tam shows no resemblance to the final flat product.
And here's the inside.
And now the blocked tam in all its glory.
I blindly blocked this over a dinner plate, and the already-loose ribbing became unbearably floppy. So, I just cut off the ribbing and picked up the sts to re-knit the ribbing with a smaller needle size.
The finished ribbing pulls in now as it should.

Ribbing was knit with 16 inch, 2.0mm Addi turbo circulars, and the body was knit with 16 inch, 3.5mm Hotz & Stein ebony wood circulars
My own design, knit in the round, from the ribbing to the center.
