"I like to wrap Christmas pressies with black gross-grain ribbon and the Financial Times; not only is the paper a lovely colour but the Weekend section is addictive reading."
Review
This hot-pink-with-black-flocked hardcover book surely catches the eye. But the graphic designer did one horrid job with layout and typeface.

That, combined with a shoddy print job, executed in China, leaves the reader frustrated. It is downright difficult to read this book. The small type coupled with annoying color palettes (think white type on a speckled gray background) gave me a migraine.

Aside from the trying-too-hard aspect of the graphic design, this book did have its moments. It's a how-to guide for style, beauty, travel, home, garden, food, etc., for those of you with an unlimited income. Sure, it's nice to daydream about acquiring a closetful of vintage Chanel bags and Christian Louboutin heels. But really, how many of us have the time and the means in this age of economic turmoil? Heck, all I can afford to dream about these days is landing a new job.
