Quote
"The morning wore away. Several people, Poirot amongst them, remained in the dining-car. The communal life was felt, at the moment, to pass the time better. He heard a good deal more about Mrs. Hubbard's daughter and he heard the lifelong habits of Mr. Hubbard, deceased, from his rising in the morning and commencing breakfast with a cereal to his final rest at night in the bed-socks that Mrs. Hubbard herself has been in the habit of knitting for him."
Review
I've always wondered about this book, and Agatha Christie. Like most people, I know who she is, yet, I've never read any of her books or seen any movies based on the books. So, finally, I read this.

Murder on the Orient Express is an interesting story, but, for me, it was mostly interesting due to the great descriptions of 1930s fashion. I think our Agatha's done a fine job of describing the people and the surroundings in the train. So much so that this book has really made me want to go on a long, long train ride. I love everything about train travel.

Maybe this is the first real murder mystery I've ever read. I generally don't make a beeline for mysteries. And maybe now I know why.

The detective, Poirot, was an interesting character, but enough of the never-ending Q&A already! Sure, that's his job, but oh my gosh, I think I would have to create an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of all the passengers on the train and their weird and suspicious behavior. Call me simple, but I did get a little confused as to who is whom and what is what.

But, all in all, I'm glad I finally picked up this book.
