Knitting Books All about me |
This book, despite Dickens, is readable. And very funny. I was laughing out loud at times, reading about Joe and the forge. Joe is a hilarious character. I love him too.
Isn't it interesting how Pip notices the manner in which Estella knits? The way in which she moves her hands? And, he notices also that her mother moves her hands the same way, but in a nervous jittering way?
Read the book, then see the 1974 movie with Michael York as Pip. Do not, under any circumstances, see the 1998 movie version with Gwyneth Paltrow. It's horrible. There's just no comparison to the 1974 version.
