Merry ol' England

Updated May 2013

I moved to London in 2003, and I just love it. And traveling out of London is a hop and a skip.

Some of y'all have asked about my favorite places in this great country, so let me take a stab at listing.

Firstly, in London, there are too many great places to visit but suffice it to say, if you have any interest in design, please take note:

My favorite store in London is Liberty. I especially love the fabled William Morris fabric sold there, yet one mustn't ever purchase fabric at Liberty's. Instead, make a pilgrimage to The Secret Liberty Fabric Shop.

One of my favorite little trips outside of London is taking the train down to Portsmouth, walking within the historic tall ships, then taking the ferry across the water to the Isle of Wight. I love that place. Please make a point of visiting Osborne House (home of Queen Victoria) and Carisbrooke Castle. It makes for such a nice weekend.

One of my favorite day trips in the south of England is to Arundel Castle.

Also, if you can, take a train to Eastbourne and hike the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters. Spectacular!
