Shetland baby's tam o'shanter
Completed in January 2010

Knitting here in Colorado is so nice. It's the perfect knitting environment. Maybe the fireplace is going and maybe it's actually snowing outside. Whatever the case, it's cozy. It makes you want to curl up and knit. And you look out the window and you see mule deer, or, in this case, elk roaming. Boy, these elk are big, like a pony!

I knit this tam with just four colors: white, black, red, and gray.

I know, I know...the tam's not in the usual baby colors, but I was going for the vintage 1940s look....

This tam measures 7.5 inches in diameter (after aggressive blocking) and was knit with my favorite Jamieson & Smith two-ply jumper weight wool.
